Bishop Gerber Science Center

Due to significant enrollment increases in Newman University’s science, allied health, and nursing programs, a new building is being designed to offer state-of-the-art classrooms, clinical learning and gross anatomy spaces, and chemistry, biology, and physics laboratories. The new facility is connected to the existing Eck Hall which now houses Newman’s nursing and allied health programs.

Sue and Bill Gross Hall, Biomedical Research Building No. 4

Alvine Engineering provided mechanical engineering systems design for the fourth building in UCI’s Biomedical Research Center. The new 4-story, 100,636-square-foot building houses the Stem Cell Research Center, laboratory-based and clinical researchers, a stem cell techniques course, a master’s program in biotechnology, and programs/activities for patients and public education.

Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building

The mission of Pappajohn Biomedical Institute is to understand the fundamentals of biology and disease by extending discoveries into real-life applications that improve human health. The hub of this Institute is in the Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building. The focus of this 9-story 218,000-square-foot structure is interdisciplinary research in the broad areas of neuroscience, aging, and regenerative medicine. The facility includes wet research laboratories, office space, vivarium, and central core facilities making the building a destination point for research-related imaging created through the Iowa Institute of Biomedical Imaging.

New Science/Laboratory Building

The J.D. & Mary West Science Laboratory at Southern Nazarene University is a 26,600-square-foot science facility housing the biology and chemistry laboratories, several research labs, ancillary support spaces, and faculty offices. The new state-of-the-art science building features modern architecture that echoes the spacious classrooms and laboratories furnished with cutting-edge equipment and teaching resources.
