Alternative Energy Project

Alvine Engineering was selected to bolster the efforts of Creighton University and their partner OPPD to optimize the educational value of the Department of Energy grant received by the University.  The grant was to be used to install alternative energy sources, such as photovoltaic (PV) panels and wind turbines, on campus to produce energy and, more importantly, to act as an interactive laboratory that would enhance students’ educational experience.

Bergstrom Football Training Facility

Alvine Engineering provided MEPT engineering systems design for this new addition to the Bergstrom Football Complex.  The two-story Football Training Facility was constructed adjacent to the Indoor Practice Facility, and includes locker rooms, strength training, athletic treatment, and rehabilitation and hydrotherapy areas. The second floor holds meeting rooms, coaching offices, conference space, and a video production area. A tunnel connects the training facility to Jack Trice Stadium for game day entrances.

University Library Dr. Guinter Kahn Addition

In 1975, the University Library was completed, and Alvine Engineering was honored for our lighting design with an Edwin and Guth Memorial Award of Merit for Lighting Design from the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. When the University announced plans for a 31,000 sq. ft. addition in 2004, Alvine Engineering was pleased to be contracted to again provide MEP engineering systems design.

Vose Hall Chemistry Lab Renovation

The opening of the new Vose Hall labs marks the completion of the second phase of the renovation of Oklahoma Christian’s science facilities. Alvine Engineering provided mechanical and electrical engineering systems design for undergraduate chemistry labs, classrooms, faculty offices and support spaces.

Social and Behavioral Sciences Building

Alvine Engineering was selected to provide mechanical engineering systems design for this new 6-story classroom building. The building includes research laboratories and academic/administrative office space for the Schools of Social Sciences and Social Ecology. This project is registered LEED Platinum Certified.

International Quilt Study Center and Museum

The University of Nebraska Foundation was responsible for selecting design team for the International Quilt Study Center, the world’s first museum and international center dedicated to the study, preservation and display of quilts. World-renowned architect, Robert A. M. Stern led the design effort with mechanical and electrical engineering design from Alvine Engineering.

Iowa Institute of Biomedical Discovery

This new facility, under construction next to the Carver Biomedical Research Building on the UI Health Sciences Campus, will house laboratories and office space dedicated to cutting-edge, cross-disciplinary research in the biomedical and life sciences, involving scientists from across the entire campus.
