The design developed during the master plan and Phase I was based on concepts discovered through research on the life of Saint Therese of Lisieux. The new building complex was given the feel of a quaint village—simplicity and humility were to permeate the design.

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church

St. Patrick’s new building is the largest in its district. In addition to a large, open narthex, the building contains space for a day care, bridal room, full-service kitchen, fellowship hall, choir room and administrative offices. Special provisions included in the building design accommodated the possible future addition of an education center.

North American Martyrs Catholic Church

This $2.6 million addition was completed in 2004. The facility’s rough-hewn architecture recalls the style of the 17th century, when the church’s namesakes settled in North America from France. The 5,200 SF parish hall also serves as a lunchroom for students in the adjacent elementary school.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church

Alvine Engineering is providing mechanical, electrical, and LEED commissioning services for this 24,000 SF addition. This is Alvine Engineering’s first LEED Certified worship project.The $6.3 million project will include a large worship space with a seating capacity of 1,200. Special amenities include a permanent immersion baptismal font, a separate reservation chapel, a reconciliation room, sacristy, and an expanded music area.

Lincoln Berean Church Addition

This addition provided a new 750-seat sanctuary to serve a total congregation of 1,200. Lower level classrooms were also added to house the Lincoln Christian School which has an enrollment of 135 first through fourth graders. The church’s worship and educational spaces were increased to a total of 65,000 SF at a construction cost of $2.9 million.

Alvine Engineering’s team was responsible for the design of the complete mechanical and electrical systems. Special acoustic considerations were applied to the MEP systems design and equipment selection.
