The Fifth + Broadway Development project will transform Nashville’s old convention center area into a vibrant mixed-use area with retail, residential, office, dining, and entertainment. The 20-story residential tower will include 350 units over a 5- to 6-level embedded parking garage, and retail space allowing residents to experience the artistic and cultural scene of Music City.

Alvine Engineering is seamlessly working with the design team to provide forward-thinking engineering consulting and design options. The entire team is implementing a risk mitigation strategy with a focus on the owner’s best interest and ROI with a short-term and long-term strategy to avoid potential issues impacting schedules and budget.

Project highlights:

  • The residential component will utilize predominantly vertical stacking water source heat pumps to allow energy metering at the unit level and flexibility to heat or cool at any time of the year.
  • Integration of MEP into the structure, specifically for electrical distribution and plumbing, were analyzed for significant cost saving opportunities.
  • Connectivity into the existing Nashville Convention Center will remain active throughout construction.
