The J.D. & Mary West Science Laboratory at Southern Nazarene University is a 26,600-square-foot science facility housing the biology and chemistry laboratories, several research labs, ancillary support spaces, and faculty offices. The new state-of-the-art science building features modern architecture that echoes the spacious classrooms and laboratories furnished with cutting-edge equipment and teaching resources.
- The building is heated by heating hot water from multiple high-efficiency modular condensing boilers.
- The building is cooled by 44º F chilled water, provided from a new 275-ton air cooled chiller which is distributed to the air handling unit cooling coils by means of a steel piping system and centrifugal circulation pumps.
- The lab gas system includes a complete piping system, central equipment, and user outlets. Lab gases consist of compressed air, vacuum, and natural gas.
