Alvine Engineering Wins ENR Best Project!

It’s not every day that your work benefits 31 adorable penguins!

Alvine Engineering recently completed an aquatic life support system that includes a main tank for the City of Albuquerque’s BioPark Zoo‘s Penguin Chill Exhibit. The exhibit had its opening day last month, and everyone flocked to see the exhibit’s three new types of residents: Macaroni, Gentoo and King Penguins. The 14,550 square-foot building includes a 75,589 gallon main tank, above-ground and underwater guest viewing areas, a large interactive educational area, and an outdoor deck overlooking the zoo’s main park.

To top it all off, the project just recently became a winner of the ENR Southwest’s “2019 Regional Best Project Award” under the category, “Sports/Entertainment.” For the full list of winners, go to the link: ENR Southwest Best Project Winners 2019. The projects that were submitted were completed in Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico from mid-2018 to mid-2019.
