Corporate Office Space in Nashville, TN
AEG Presents, a major global concert promoter and venue operator, expanded its footprint by adding a new 15,000‑square‑foot fit-out office in Nashville Yards. Designed to appeal to both employees and visiting artists—from major headliners to local talent—the space reflects the city’s vibrant music culture. Artwork, albums, and music-inspired details flow throughout the space, creating a modern, creative, and welcoming environment. The lighting strategy included keeping the ceilings as clean as possible to maintain an unobstructed, modern look. This detail was essential to uphold the design and dark-mood aesthetic, while highlighting the architectural features and artistic displays. As the architectural lighting consultants, Alvine integrated cost considerations, functional requirements, and design aesthetics to deliver lighting solutions that supported the owner’s vision.
SEAMLESS LIGHTING
According to Ben Williams, LC, our firm’s lighting design lead, “The design goal was to conceal as much of the lighting as possible. In the reception area, we utilized recessed slot fixtures that housed all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components, requiring close coordination across multiple disciplines. This slot integrated adjustable downlights, occupancy sensors, diffusers, and fire sprinkler heads to keep the ceiling clean, organized, and visually unobtrusive.”
Recessed perimeter mount lights provide an ambient layer of light, creating a soft, balanced glow throughout the office. To continue the clean aesthetic in the boardroom, luminaires concealed within fabric baffles, perimeter-mounted linears, integrated tape light, and deep-regress downlights were installed. Private offices feature black ceilings, so linear luminaires with black louvers were specified to maintain quiet ceilings while providing appropriate task lighting.
“Because artwork and artist memorabilia were meant to be the focal points, we focused heavily on lighting integration. The lighting needed to support the architecture without competing with the visuals.”
– Ben Williams, LC, Lighting Design Lead
LIGHTING THAT MOVES
Collaboration areas required a more flexible lighting strategy to support reconfigurable furniture layouts and rotating displays of curated artist installations. A track lighting system outlines the room and provides a soft overall glow with indirect lighting, while also allowing adjustability to highlight and showcase creative art and design elements with aimable track heads. This adaptable approach ensures the area can be easily rearranged without sacrificing visual impact or performance.
“Through precise fixture selection, lighting integration, and advanced control strategies, the design demonstrates a highly intentional approach to both performance and efficiency standards. Every component was engineered to support visual comfort, reduce energy demand, and maintain the architectural integrity of the space.”
– Ben Williams, LC, Lighting Design Lead

SUSTAINABLE ILLUMINATION
Daylight from the floor-to-ceiling windows illuminates a significant amount of the office, and sensor-controlled lighting adjusts in real time to reduce glare and lower utility usage. With energy-efficient fixtures, the design illumination exceeds the 2018 IECC energy standards by 35%. This means the corporate office uses significantly less power consumption than a typical space of its size, while still providing high-quality, well-lit areas throughout.
Beyond these technical achievements, the overall AEG Presents office space feels warm, welcoming, and memorable for both employees and visiting artists. This elevated environment strengthens their presence in the city and supports Nashville’s growing entertainment and tourism scene.
“With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city, it only made sense to maximize natural light. Daylight harvesting helps the space operate efficiently while taking full advantage of the views.”
– Ben Williams, LC, Lighting Design Lead
