Growing up, Nichole’s passion for architectural engineering was sparked early on by her mother, who worked at a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) firm. Whenever Nichole had a day off from school, she would accompany her mom to the office, gaining early exposure to the world of engineering. She grew up watching engineers create blueprints on drafting tables and was fascinated by the idea that buildings were being made from creativity, pen, and paper. Along with the early introduction, Nichole’s high school engineering courses sparked her love for architecture and math, which ultimately led her to obtain her bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

One of the most impactful projects of Nichole’s career was the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel. This was not only one of Nichole’s first projects, but it was a high-rise. This experience taught Nichole about the extensive steps and problem-solving that go into designing multi-story projects. Additionally, she witnessed firsthand the profound impact this project had on her own community. The hotel has transformed the city’s skyline, become a staple of downtown Oklahoma City, and has brought Nichole immense pride in having a front-row seat to it all.

As a project manager, Nichole prioritizes energy-efficient design solutions—ranging from energy reduction strategies and advanced lighting controls to innovative lighting design and renewable energy systems. She also ensures that these sustainable approaches maintain a comfortable and user-friendly environment for building occupants. Along with being a leader inside and outside of the firm, Nichole is an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES)’s Oklahoma City Chapter.
