Summer Season Highlights Company Culture

Company Culture

Culture reflects our way of life. Here at Alvine Engineering, our way of life focuses on professional development, learning, and fun! The summer season highlights our company culture in the best way with fun opportunities to get involved!

Growing professionally means something different to each individual. At Alvine, we work with you to set goals and find opportunities that will help you continue to grow. Whether that’s technical, collaboration, or leadership skills, we want to help set you up for success.

“When I was an intern at Alvine Engineering, I felt like I was fully integrated into project teams and could express design ideas and opinions on projects from schematic design to construction administration. A lot of anxiety can come from projects and corporate events when you are new and know no one. I never felt that anxiety here because of the open and inclusive environment.”

—Gage Gibney, Electrical Designer at Alvine Engineering

Professional Development

Professional development also looks different at every stage in your career. Internships are an important part of exploring the industry, which is why we encourage our interns to find their unique talents and strengths by working on current projects, participating in site visits, and bonding with team members. And we have found that our interns bring new ideas and perspectives to our current employees.

Lifelong Learning

Alvine Engineering encourages a commitment to lifelong learning. From technical trainings to lunch and learns, staff have many opportunities to expand their knowledge on subjects within the industry and outside, like financial stability. Mentorship is also a big part of learning. Alvine’s mentorship program allows for one-on-one learning and development personally tailored to each individual.

Teaching Others

Not only do we give our staff members the opportunity to be mentored, but to mentor and teach others. Whether that’s through Alvine’s mentorship program or by participating in mentorships at local high schools and engineering summer camps, we recognize that people often learn just as much, if not more, by teaching others.

“I’ve had a number of mentors in my career; each of them had an impact on how I go about working in the A-E-C industry on a daily basis. Now, I work to pay it forward.”

Nevin Suddarth, CDT, QCXP, Associate Principal at Alvine Engineering

Fun in the Sun!

We also know that all work and no play makes for dull engineering! Summer fun showcases the company culture in some of the best ways. From annual events like the company golf outing to picnics and baseball games to sand volleyball, we enjoy spending time with our coworkers on and off the clock. We love engaging with our communities, too, through events like the OKC Memorial Marathon and park cleanups with Keep Omaha Beautiful.
