Mary Wurst Earns a Spot on Consulting-Specifying Engineer‘s 2024 40 Under 40 List

OMAHA, NE – We are proud to announce that Mary Wurst, P.E., is a recipient of Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s (CSE) 2024 40 under 40 award. This award is given annually to 40 nonresidential building industry professionals ages 40 and younger who are recognized as stand-out individuals, reflected via personal and professional accolades.

Candidates were nominated by a colleague or mentor and judged by industry experts based on nine areas, including their commitment to academics, their profession, personal lives, and their community. What intrigued the judging panel was Mary’s dedication to exemplary K-12 education design. On a professional level, Mary has completed iconic projects by utilizing creative design solutions and crafting high-performing systems for projects such as Omaha Public Schools’ Westview High School. Her portfolio boasts more than 150 K-12 projects.

“Wurst is an exemplary figure in the field of architectural engineering, known for her outstanding contributions as an associate principal, project manager, and licensed electrical engineer,” stated CSE in a short biography featured on their website,Her ability to foster strong partnerships with clients and architects has earned her the respect of industry peers, with longstanding clients praising her positive attitude and commitment to excellence.”

Mary’s involvement in K-12 education goes beyond her office hours: she is an active member of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), participates in the Millard Public Schools STEM Academy Advisory Committee, and also contributes to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Inclusion Scholars Program.

“It was an honor and a very humbling experience to receive the award,” Mary explained, “I couldn’t be more grateful for my family, mentors, and teams that I have worked on that have allowed me the opportunity to excel in this career.”
