River’s Edge Pavilion

Council Bluffs, Iowa

3,400 GSF Building
1,900 GSF Deck

Conceptualized as a “front porch” for the revitalized riverfront area, the River’s Edge Pavilion connects the Bob Kerry pedestrian bridge with the Iowa Riverfront Trail system. Located at 4250 River’s Edge Parkway, the River’s Edge Pavilion offers indoor and outdoor rental spaces.

A space for the community to host events and activities, the building blends the outdoors with modern amenities including a public-use meeting room, public restrooms, and patio areas. The first floor features heating and cooling, tables and chairs, a catering kitchen, private restrooms, an audiovisual system, and an outdoor deck. The rooftop deck allows up to 122 guests a spectacular view of the surrounding park all the way to the Omaha skyline.

  • HVAC system is a single heat recovery variable refrigerant volume (VRV) outdoor unit that serves the community room and support spaces, ensuring adequate comfort levels for guests.
  • Wet sprinkler system provides fire protection for the entire facility.
  • Designed low-voltage system rough-ins, including telecommunications and audiovisual systems.
  • Winner of the 2018 AIA Nebraska Merit Award for excellence in architecture.
